A talk with Professor Metello Mugnai (West Chester University) on Italian singer and song writer Fabrizio De André. The presentation will focus on De André's motivation to translate Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology and will discuss the impact of Lee Master's poetry on De Andreé.

In this lecture, Dr. Brian Rose reviews new archaeological discoveries in Rome and Pompeii during the last 30 years. In Rome, in particular, increased construction activity for the new subway lines has brought to light some striking discoveries that significantly change our understanding of the city during the first three centuries of the empire.
